WVUT’s daily newscast, NewsCenter 22, is produced through the combined efforts of WVUT’s production department, news staff, and the faculty and students of Vincennes University’s Broadcasting Department. NewsCenter 22 serves a dual purpose of providing information as a public service to the viewers of WVUT, while serving as a training ground for future broadcasters. Vincennes University Broadcasting students are afforded the opportunity to work on NewsCenter 22 each night of the academic school year. Students, along with the supervision of the staff and faculty, perform all on-air and behind-the-scenes crew positions including director, technical director, graphics, audio, video playback, camera operator, floor director, teleprompter and news, weather, sports, and newsbreak anchors. The students are also involved in writing news stories and shooting video of local news and sports events for inclusion on NewsCenter 22 .

WVUT is proud of the unparalleled experience we provide the students, while presenting a quality newscast with a truly local perspective.

One aspect of the educational experiences available to the students involved with the NewsCenter 22 telecast is to fill on-air anchor positions of news, weather, sports, or newsbreak. These postions rotate throughout the semester.

You can watch NewsCenter 22 weekly on WVUT 22.1 & 22.2 during the school year.
