Farbest Foods has taken another step towards ground breaking for their new plant in Knox County. The Knox County Board of Zoning Appeals approved a conditional use of land for Farbest Foods. The Knox County Commissioners received two bids for the re-roofing the courthouse. The two bids were opened during yesterday's (tues) meeting. CMR Roofing and Construction of St. Louis was the low bidder at $227,000. Evansville's Midwest Roofing and Insulation was the other bidder--coming in at $265,000. A Daviess County Fisherman caught the the longest winning fish among all the 2011 Fish of the Year Species contest in Indiana. An Indianapolis man, who exchanged gunfire with a state trooper, was paroled in 2010 after serving less than six years for armed robbery. Police said 35-year-old John Michael Fish remained at large  following the shooting Monday night along U.S. 50 near Seymour, about 50 miles south of Indianapolis. The Indiana Department of Child Services says a record number of adoptions were finalized in 2011. For the year 1,787 foster children found forever families with a single-month record of 439 adoptions set in December. The Vincennes School Board voted last night to accept the offer placed on the old Clark Middle School and Administration Building.
