All seven Vincennes City Council seats will be contested this Fall.
Before Thursday, Democrat Dan Ravellette had no opponent on the Republican side of the ticket. Michelle James changed that when she filed to run for the GOP to run for the Council Seat in District 4.
A new candidate also filed to run for Vincennes Clerk-Treasurer in the 2019 Municipal Elections.
In a press release sent out Thursday, Democrat Angela Herron announced her intention to run, filing paperwork at the Knox County Courthouse. As of right now, Herron, a Human Resources Assistant at Vincennes University, is the only Democrat to file for her party.
On the Republican side, former Knox County Assessor Cathy Lane will seek the position. She is also unopposed within her own party.
Outside of Vincennes, Democratic incumbent Peggy Blann will seek re-election as the Oaktown Clerk-Treasurer, while Republican incumbent Randy Rinsch will seek to retain his seat on the Oaktown Town Board.
