2nd Republican Announces Washington Mayoral Run

Posted on December 6th, 2018

Washington City Councilman Jerry Sidebottom has thrown his hat into the ring to become the City’s next Mayor.

Sidebottom says his 8 years on the council gives him a detailed understanding of how local government works.  He says he  has worked tirelessly for taxpayers during his years on the council, improving streets and sidewalks and resolving flooding problems.

Sidebottom becomes the second Republican candidate looking to succeed Mayor Joe Wellman. On Tuesday, Diane Snyder announced her candidacy.

Wellman announced last month he will not seek re-election.
