The Vincennes Lowe’s Home Improvement and Hardware Store is donating 30 new picnic tables to be placed in Gregg Park.
Superintendent Steve Beaman says the donation comes at a welcome time as many of the tables in the park are in bad shape.
Beaman says the corporate donation is part of Lowes Heroes Project. He says each store is given 25-hundred dollars to be used for community projects.
Parks Board President Frank Emert applauded Lowes Corporate donation. He says that many times when the park is full people end up picnicking on the lawn.
According to Beaman, some of the older picnic tables in Gregg Park will be repaired and re-used in some of the other city parks.
