Area residents will have the chance to learn more about plant species this weekend.
The public is invited to attend the Climbing, Clinging and Grabbing Nature Walk at Oubache Trails park on Sunday afternoon.
Master Naturalist Terri King will take attendees on a casual walk to look for certain plants that reach the sunlight by climbing up other plants or obstacles. The event will take a look at how they accomplish the task, as well as noticing animal life that climbs, clings and grasps. Participants will be using Trail 7 at Ouabache Trails Park, first exploring the wetland area and then the upland portion.
All ages are welcome and families encouraged to attend. There is no fee or registration for the event. Those interested should meet at 2:00 pm Eastern time at the Sacajawea Shelter House.
