Tonight’s National Night Out event has been postponed due to the ongoing possibility of thunderstorms in our area throughout the evening.
Police Chief Dusty Luking made the announcement just before 9:00 a.m. this morning. The event has been moved to Thursday, August 2nd, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rainbow Beach.
The free event is organized by the VIncennes Police Department in an effort to help the public become more familiar with their local officers and strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community.
The community-building campaign not only brings area residents together, but it aims to heighten the awareness around crime and drug prevention, generate support for anti-crime efforts, strengthen community partnerships and let criminals know the community is organized and is fighting back.
