Lock your doors. Turn out your lights. Get out in the community. The public is invited to once again participate in National Night Out.
The free event is organized by the VIncennes Police Department in an effort to help the public become more familiar with their local officers and strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community.
The community-building campaign not only brings area residents together, but it aims to heighten the awareness around crime and drug prevention, generate support for anti-crime efforts, strengthen community partnerships and let criminals know the community is organized and is fighting back.
According to Vincennes Police Chief Dusty Luking, this is a night for Vincennes to stand together and show unity.
The Vincennes National Night Out is set to take place on Tuesday, July 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rainbow Beach.
