The Knox County CASA Program will soon be under new leadership.
Current Director Dena Held has announced that her last day in the position will be July 30th. Held has served the local CASA office for over a decade, helping to connect local volunteers with children in need in the community.
In the past year, Held says 187 children were helped by their Court Appointed Special Advocates, who donated over 4,000 hours of their time.
In August, Held will transition into the roll of 4-H Extension Educator at the Purdue University Martin County office. In a message sent out Thursday morning, Held says she in confident that she leaves CASA in the hands of capable, passionate, and dedicated professionals.
An interim director for the organization is expected to be named in the near future.
