A request for a zoning change is now headed to the Area Plan Commission.
Attorney Graham Dycus appeared before the Knox County Commissioners at their meeting last night on behalf of the Knox County Development Corporation. According to Dycus, a recently acquired piece of property within the Vincennes Industrial Park is currently zoned as A1 for agricultural purposes. It was the request of the KCDC that it be rezoned as I-2 for light industrial purposes, as the corporation continues to work towards attracting businesses to the area.
The Commissioners unanimously approved the 1st reading of the request. The matter now must be approved by the Area Plan Commission before the Commissioners can vote on a 2nd and 3rd reading, making the rezoning official.
