Co. Council Approves Terms of Interlocal Agreement

Posted on March 14th, 2018

The Pantheon Business Theatre project took another big step forward last night.

Knox County Council President Bob Lechner spoke about the agreements passed at their meeting.

A pair of related resolutions were also passed regarding the project. The first gives the council the option to explore short term finance options if needed to cover their portion of the funds. The second resolution is in support of an independent asbestos inspection that was done on the building. Lechner said the inspection revealed minimal asbestos but that they will look into taking care of it.

Both the City and County councils have now given the interlocal agreement the green light. The final step will be for the County Commissioners to do so as well. Their next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 20th at 6:00 p.m.
