Council Passes Resolution for Schott Abatement

The Vincennes City Council has passed a resolution that provides a tax abatement for one of the biggest employers in Vincennes.

Schott North America, located on Chestnut Street in Vincennes, will see their personal property taxes slowly increase from zero over the next five years, as to allow the company to financially afford an trio of upgrades at the facility.

The company recently announced plans to purchase new manufacturing equipment for the creation of auto loaders, a new furnace system and Clear Trans Cook Tops.

The Council approved the five year abatement unanimously and wished Schott good luck with their ongoing efforts.
