Officials Investigating Sullivan Co. Fire

Officials continue to investigate a Sullivan County fire that killed one man.

Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom says that investigators responded to the scene of the fire in the 5900 block of East Private Road 375 N. The call came in just before 6:00 a.m. yesterday after neighbors saw flames coming from the residence.

Cottom says one adult male and a dog died in the fire. The victim’s name will be released at a later date, pending autopsy and positive identification.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.

Units from Sullivan, Union, Hymera, Thunderbird, Sullivan County Ambulance and the Sullivan County Coroner responded to the scene.
