Contract Signed for Lester Square Equipment

A contract has been signed for the installation of fitness equipment at Lester Square Park. Vincennes Parks Superintendent Steve Beaman says workers with GameTime, are expected to be in the city the week of September 25th to begin installing the equipment. Beaman says he’s grateful for the efforts of Vincennes native Allie Bobe who was instrumental in helping to raise a portion of the money needed to buy the equipment.

The Vincennes City Council appropriated 56-thousand dollars in Riverboat Gambling funds to complete the purchase of the fitness equipment.

Beaman says they are planning to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony and recognize businesses who made a donation towards the project once the equipment has been installed.

Beaman says the fitness equipment is weather resistant and can be used year round. He say the individual pieces run the gamut from core and strength training to cadio-vascular
