Bicknell Testing Sewer System This Week

Posted on July 17th, 2017

The City of Bicknell will begin an inspection of the city’s sewer system today. The city will employ smoke testing to determine where storm water is entering the sewer system. Homeowners set to be impacted by this testing should have already received a notice from Midwestern Engineers, who will be doing the work. For those homes set to be involved in the testing, homeowners are advised to make sure the traps under their sinks, toilets and anywhere else connected to the sewer system are filled with water. This will prevent any smoke from the tests from entering their home. The work is expected to take about a week to complete.

The results of the test will allow the city of Bicknell to have a better understanding of how to address removing unnecessary storm water from the sanitary sewer system. For more information, resident can contact the Bicknell Municipal Utilities at (812) 735-3301.
