Portions of several Knox County roads will be getting some attention this summer.
The Knox County Commissioners approved advertising for resurfacing of 23+ miles of roadway at their meeting Monday night.
Commission President Kelli Streeter says included in the bid specifications is the amount of black top that is going to be needed, in hopes of getting more competitive bids from contractors.
Streeter says County Highway Superintendent Benji Boyd went out and calculated the amount of road material was going to be needed for each individual project.
She says the work will include up to portions of 17 county roads. Boyd indicated, if there is a cost savings, more roads may be added to the list.
